In James 1:21-25, the Lord told us to be a doer of His Word and not just a-hear. Many of God’s people think that a doer means just to only be a do-gooder doing everything they can helping people satisfy their needs. That is a misinterpretation and misperception of God’s Holy Word. Many do-gooders have not accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior meaning that they are not a sincere doer of God Word. A Doer of God’s Word is someone who has a one-on-one relationship with Jesus Christ. Our flesh will never be under control unless we start doing what God’s Word instructs us to do. We only see and know things and ourselves in part. The flesh keeps us from achieving God’s perfect will. God is the only one that knows us better then we know ourselves; He is the creator of all things. Being a doer is a daily walk with the Lord building our faith.
God is our Father, Jesus is our Savior, and the Holy Ghost is our Comforter, which encompass many other essential characteristics that give us Power. Acts 1:8 states that ye shall receive power after the Holy Ghost come upon you. The Holy Ghost is the third person of the Trinity and He aids us in doing supernatural things we never did before. By walking in the Spirit we shall not fulfill the lust of the fresh; being the flesh under subjection to the will of God. We all must receive the Holy Ghost to help empower us from the lust of flesh.
In this weeks lesson, you will learn that many people has allow their flesh to control their entire body selling them unto sin. People has allowed the flesh man to stronger then their spirit and soul man. This has led them to lose control of themselves doing that which is convenient with their bodies. Many people has found themselves addicted to smoking, sex, drugs, alcohol, stealing, lying, and many other carnal things of the flesh.
The only way they can be correct themselves is to ask the Jesus to save them in accordance with Romans 10:9. The Apostle Paul talks about his experience with his flesh starting with Romans 7:14. He stated that every time he want to do good evil was always present with him due to the flesh. Paul realized that he need some help and begin to yield himself to the Holy Ghost and use God's Word to defeat the flesh. For man shall not live by bread along but by every word the proceeds from the mouth of God. We are no different; we all are having daily struggles with something. Ask the Lord to help you, study and be doers of His Word. Being a doer of God's Word is not volunteering for every position in the church and in your community. It is understanding and applying the essence of God's Word to your life living Holy everyday.
